Monday last week was a great surprise. I learned that Papa had the week off from work to spend some quality time with me and Mama. Wohooooo!

But not only would he stay with us, but we drove all the way south to Carmel.

Carmel is a very dog friendly, cosy little town. Dogs may go almost everywhere, they are even allowed inside most of the restaurants there. Isn’t that great?

But the best thing is the beach. Carmel has a fantastic white sandy beach where dogs can run off-leash!

Because it was a really warm and sunny day, Mama and Papa brought the parasol for me so I could sit in the shade. But who wants to sit in the shade, when digging in the sand is so much more fun?

I love digging and I dug an awesome hole. Tee-hee. My snout was all sandy, but who cares ;-)

Mama was really brave, she took a swim in the Pacific. Can you believe it? She’s nuts. It’s sooooo cold and those waves are really really scary. I didn’t dare to go to close to the water. I even had to call some other dogs back, when they were jumping in the water. Better be safe than sorry, me thinks.

And how needs to swim, when you can dig in the sand? Exactly!

And then something fantastic happened. Papa and I were playing with some other dogs, when a man approach us, with a dog who looked exactly like me. When Papa asked who he was and where he was born (because he obviously was a Beardie Puppy) it turned out, that this was my brother Vegas (I knew him as Foster). I haven’t seen him for almost 3 months so I didn’t recognize him at first. But wow, I was so happy to see one of my siblings again. And Vegas seemed to be happy to see me too. He’s really handsome and so fluffy.

And guess what? He doesn’t like waves either. Tee-hee.

It definitely was nice to see him.

So we all had a pretty awesome time at the beach in Carmel.

In the evening the fog came back and although I loved it, Mama and Papa decided that it was time to leave the beach in favor of a stroll around Carmel.

They seemed to enjoy it, me not so much. I think digging in the sand was way more fun than window shopping. But they eventually sat down at and Italian restaurant and I was glad to have a little nap time while they were having dinner.

All in all a fantastic day, and I love Carmel. Awesome pet policy and 5 out of 5 paws for that. :-)
